Allegations of toxic prison where inmates are goaded by staff

Thirteen prisoner deaths so far this year, outbreaks of serious disorder and now four members of staff arrested on suspicion of assault and misconduct in public office.

While prisons across the country are gripped by crisis – problems at the privately run HMP Parc have been particularly acute.

Now a former prison officer and a former inmate – who both left just months ago – tell us the regime is toxic.

It’s claimed that one group of officers who call themselves the heavy mob goad prisoners – then use excessive force when they react.
