COVID-19 declared 'pandemic' by World Health Organisation

The global coronavirus outbreak has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.

WHO expressed increasing concern about the spread of the disease and "alarming levels of inaction".

The head of the WHO said it was not too late for nations to act and all countries could still change the course of the pandemic if they detect, test, treat, isolate, trace and mobilise their people.

There have been more than 121,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in at least 114 nations.
