Facebook gives World Health Organization free ads to tackle COVID-19

Facebook has pledged to give the World Health Organization (WHO) as many free ads as it needs to get the message out about COVID-19. Users who search for COVID-19 will see a pop-up directing them to the WHO or their local health authority for the latest information. The social media giant is also clamping down on fake news. Facebook will remove false claims and conspiracy theories flagged by health organisations. Meanwhile, Ronan Keating has removed and apologised for an Instagram post that claimed ships near Singapore were being denied entry due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
