SC Passes Order On Stary Dog Mence, All Starys Should Be Moved To Shelter

In a landmark order addressing the growing menace of stray dogs, the Supreme Court has directed Delhi authorities to immediately begin moving all stray dogs, especially from vulnerable localities, to shelters. The Court, hearing a suo motu case on the rising number of dog bite and rabies deaths, expressed alarm over the situation and criticized animal rights activists, pointedly asking if they could bring back those who have died. The order gives the authorities eight weeks to create new shelters with proper sterilization and vaccination facilities.
