UK will be 'cosying up' with China amid Trump's trade war

Writer and broadcaster Esther Krauke says the UK is strengthening ties with China amid US President Donald Trump’s trade war.

“Instead of trying to cosy up to the Americans and get a favourable deal, they look like they’re going to be cosying up to China,” Ms Krauke said.

“Our trade with China actually has been increasing about 10 per cent every year, and they have a stronger foothold in our financial services.

“So it doesn’t really look like Keir Starmer is going to get much out of the Americans, and he’s going to pivot towards China.”
