What will Trump’s tariffs mean for the Canadian economy?

U.S. President Donald Trump has remained steadfast in his plan to impose tariffs on Canadian exports to the United States.

Trump has repeatedly warned both Mexico and Canada — two of the United States’ top trading partners — that he will impose tariffs if the two countries do not end fentanyl trafficking and the flow of migrants across U.S. border.

Although both countries have taken steps to boost border security, Trump has also complained about trade deficits.
